Lot #2343. 1899 Liberty Nickel. MS-67+ (PCGS). CAC. Secure Holder.

Exemplary Gem Uncirculated 1899 Liberty Nickel

Finest Certfied by PCGS Within any Designation

Description: Bright and satiny surfaces exhibit robust cartwheel luster, hints of pale golden toning, and exceptional eye appeal. The strike is bold throughout and the surfaces approach immaculate, though we must note a toning fleck at the bottom of the 1 in the date, the only blemish of note. The present Gem is the finest PCGS-certified 1899 Liberty nickel in any grade designation, and represents a true Condition Rarity for the date. Yet another superb Liberty nickel from the Land of Smiles Collection, and a Gem that should experience lively bidding activity.

Numismatic Reflections by Q. David Bowers
Normally an auction sale would do well to have a single Liberty nickel that is the top of the PCGS population, and yet here we have quite a few. Suffice it to say this sale will probably be remembered for a long time.

PCGS Population: 1; none finer within any designation.

PCGS# 3860.
