Deep golden-brown with areas of rouge-red on both sides, especially the obverse. Sharpness and eye appeal more in line with EF than VF in our opinion. Die clash marks in obverse field before the effigy's profile. Evenly centered on the obverse, reverse rim to tops of INDE. Some light scratches come to life under low magnification, but no other marks are visible to the naked eye. Perhaps these scratches represent the "Tooled" qualifier on the PCGS label, as no actual hand re-engraving of the design features -- the true meaning of "tooling" -- can be found by the writer (FVV). Well worth an intense going-over before you form your bidding strategy.
