63 millimeters. Engraved by Christian Gobrecht. A lovely, fully original specimen with considerable reflectivity in the fields. More-or-less even toning in blue-gray color is noted, and it helps to conceal a few wispy hairlines that are anything but offensive. Fully struck with no rub and a very pleasing appearance.
This lot includes the original red leather case inscribed to the Wolcott Woollen Manufacturing Company, as well as a tattered paper on which is written a brief history of the Wolcott firm and its founder James Wolcott. The case is also quite tattered with considerable chipping of the edges and one side detached.
