76.6 millimeters. 3,249.5 grains. With a loupe mounted for suspension. A very rare type, this piece is original silver-gray with rich steel-gray highlights outlining the devices. Fairly clean edges in the context of the assigned grade, with mostly small, wispy hairlines and contact marks on the surfaces.
This type was issued to commemorate Indian Treaty No. 2 signed August 21, 1871 between Commissary Simpson and the Chippewa that resulted in the cession to the Canadian government of virtually the entire province of Manitoba and the lands to the west. This treaty is also known as the Manitoba Post Treaty.
