64.5 millimeters. With a loupe for suspension and a beaded pin attached. The pin appears to be of later origin as these medals were originally suspended from cloth ribbons. Light highpoint rub to richly toned, reddish-copper surfaces. A few scattered blemishes are mostly confined to the obverse.
This medal commemorates the visit of the Duke and Duchess of York and Cornwall to Canada during the royal family's world tour in 1901 shortly after the accession of King Edward VII. As in other nations, the Native Americans in Canada gathered to offer their allegiance to the royal family. The Duke and Duchess of York and Cornwall are now better known as King George V and Queen Mary.
