This is a well-produced coin for the type despite the fact that the planchet it quite wavy. The impression is nicely centered on both sides, and none of the major design elements are even partially off the flan. The detail is overall bold--another impressive attribute--and an even endowment of rich steely-gray patina further enhances the coin's appearance. A conditionally scarce survivor of this important early Colonial-era type.
The insert that is mounted in the holder with this coin carries PCGS #21--a number that is used for the Pine Tree Threepence type as a whole. PCGS #45366 that we have listed at the end of this description is the number that specifically applies to the No Pellets Guide Book variety and is more appropriate for this coin.
