An exceptionally attractive example of this challenging type, both sides exude originality in the form of rich, even, dove-gray patina. The obverse impression is drawn toward the top--a diagnostic of the variety--but the reverse is fairly well centered and both sides possess relatively bold definition. Problem free for the grade, and worthy of a strong bid.
PCGS #22 on this coin's insert refers to the Pine Tree Sixpence type as a whole. We have chosen to use PCGS #45367 at the end of this description because that number corresponds to the Pellets at Trunk Guide Book variety.
