Lot #8667. 1874-CC Liberty Seated Half Dollar. Arrows. WB-101, Die Pair WB-3. Rarity-4. AU-55 (NGC).

Description: A rarity in all grades, and virtually unobtainable this well preserved, especially so attractive. Natural gunmetal gray and lilac toning throughout with a solid strike and pleasing surfaces. The strike is sharp on all devices, too. This is the "Unicorn Eagle" variety with a sharp raised feather (die gouge) behind the eagle's head above the eye. For the date and mint collector the present offering is certainly compelling as so few high grade examples cross the auction block. This superlative example of this prized rarity is bound to garner considerable attention.

NGC Census: 3; 15 finer (MS-65 finest).

PCGS# 6347.
