Unlike its similarly dated S-mint counterpart, the 1875 twenty-cent piece is a seldom offered coin in any grade. The devices are thickly frosted in texture with razor sharp striking detail. Mint frost thins to modest brightness in the fields, a feature that provides a pleasingly semi-prooflike sheen at indirect light angles. There is some hazy gray patina on both sides, and the surfaces are equally free of distracting abrasions. One of just 39,700 pieces produced, and certain to find a place of honor in either a specialized collection or a better date type set.
