Remnants of a small S show to the right of the existing Large S mintmark. An interesting and elusive variety that is seldom seen, never in high grades. In fact, PCGS has not graded an example finer than VF, NGC has seen a lone AU-58. Both services, combined have graded a total of just 17 pieces. Smooth, even wear with good remaining detailing, a thick coating of natural steel-gray patina has accumulated over each side. An important offering.
