This 1795 dollar is reasonably nice despite a long ago past cleaning as the medium silver-gray toning has returned with traces of gunmetal-blue in the fields. The damage seems to consist of a few shallow scuffs and dull marks on the reverse, but nothing really stands out as all that distracting. While the dentils are somewhat irregular, this particular variety often has this feature, and the rim itself is hidden by the grommet. Moderate to heavy adjustment marks are noted on the reverse crossing into the eagle, as often seen on these early dollars. A scarcer variety which shows a moderate die crack from the rim up through the 7 to Liberty's bust.
