A paper strip obviously cut from a larger document, with the Royal wax seal still in place. The autographs are those of Hawaiian King Kamehameha III, and childhood friend and adviser Keoni Ana, a half-Caucasian native of Hawaii. Across the top of the strip, the date is handwritten as 3 / Augate (sic) / 1853 (the year before the King's death). This item has not been professionally graded or authenticated.
King Kamehameha's likeness is seen on the Hawaiian cent issue of 1847. King of hawaii since the "ripe old age" of nine, he first shared the throne with personal friend and advisor John Young until he reached his majority age. He was the longest ruling monarch of the Kingdom of the Hawaiian Islands.
