Description: Cuirassed bust of the General, to the light, legend "LE GENERAL LAFAYETTE NE EN 7bre 1757", in the exergue "COMDT. DE LA GDE NATLE/PARISENNE EN 1789". Reverse: 10 line inscription. A seldom seem silver example of a French medal honoring the exploits of this French patriot and American Revolutionary war hero. Late 19th century Paris Mint restrike. Edge: (cornucopia) ARGENT.
