Lot #5469. 1804 Capped Bust Right Half Eagle. BD-7. Rarity-4. Small 8/Large 8. AU Details--Cleaning (PCGS).

Description: Deep yellow-gold with olive highlights. Reverse planchet adjustment marks, as struck, cross the eagle's tail feathers. The soft glow of the planchet serves to hide the faint hairlines of a long-ago brushing. Scarcer across the grading spectrum than its normal date counterpart of the year. A coin that should be viewed before bidding judgment is passed -- if nothing else, it is an amply suitable filler of the date or design type.
