PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ Boston 1934 $10,000 in Stack’s Bowers Upcoming March Baltimore Auction

In honor of Peter and Matt’s beloved New England Patriot’s victory in Super Bowl XLIX, our Stack’s Bowers Note of the Week is this Boston District Fr. 2231-A 1934 $10,000 Federal Reserve Note graded PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ. This note, from the Holecek Family Foundation Collection is tied with one other note for the finest graded Fr. 2231-A by PMG and will be offered in our Official Currency Auction of the Whitman Coin & Collectibles Baltimore Expo this March.

This crisp example of the United States’ highest circulating denomination features bright paper and darkly inked elements on this bold design. The light green overprint is well printed and features low serial number A00000127A. Naturally wavy paper can be seen through the holder, attesting to the note’s unmistakable originality. The lot will be offered with an estimate of $150,000 to $250,000. Through the generosity of the Holecek Family Foundation 100% of the consignor’s proceeds will go to various charitable foundations.

Our Official Auction of the Whitman Coin & Collectibles Baltimore Expo will be held March 26-29, 2015. Visit StacksBowers.com for more information or to view and bid on lots when the entire sale goes online in March.
