1917-D Standing Liberty Quarter. Type II. MS-65 (PCGS).

This week we present a nicely toned Gem example of the first year of issue of the Type II Standing Liberty Quarter. This example has satiny luster with shades of gray and gold toning, particularly on the reverse. A relatively common coin, from a mintage of nearly 6.25 million pieces, it is somewhat scarce with Full Head details. Although not quite full, there is ample detail to the head, and most of the bosses on the shield are struck up. Look for this and other popular collector coins in our iAuction, closing on Sunday, August 3.
