Our April Valkenburg auction is just over a month away and we are excited to host a show and auction in Europe! One interesting note that we will be offering is a Denmark P-A62a 1863 5 Rigsdaler graded Choice Fine 15 by PMG.
The note is dated 1863 and bears the handwritten serial number "990311." Neptune is depicted at left while an allegorical woman is at right. Ornate floral designs above and below the portraits encase "5" counters. This is an incredibly scarce note from the Danish Rigsdaler System (used for the 1863-74 series), and the offered piece is the sole example listed on PMG’s pop report for the variety. We have yet to handle this type and we are very pleased to finally offer it to our bidders. PMG Pop 1/No Others Graded.
