Ancient Coin Depicting Nero to be Sold in Stack’s Bowers Galleries February World Collectors Choice Auction

Did you know that on February 11, 55 AD, Tiberius Claudius
Caesar Britannicus, the heir to the Roman Empire, died under mysterious
circumstances? Britannicus was 13 years of age when he died, and he died one
day before his birthday. This paved the way for the infamous Nero to take the
throne.


On February 23, 2021, Stack’s Bowers Galleries will offer
over 100 Ancient coins in their World Collectors Choice Online Auction. Among
these is the NERO,
A.D. 54-68. AE Dupondius (14.49 gms), Rome Mint, A.D. 64. NGC EF, Strike: 5/5
Surface: 4/5.
Stack’s Bowers Galleries estimates this coin will sell for
$800 to $1,200. It has a current bid of $750.
