The penultimate San Francisco Mint issue in the Standing Liberty quarter series, the 1929-S is also popular with collectors due to a mintage of just 1,764,000 coins. Many were saved, however, making this issue an ideal candidate for use in a type set.

The example to the left was sold by Stack's Bowers Galleries in the 2008 Decatur Sale, where it realized $14,375.
