In Tibet, as is the case
with most banknotes from this region, it is not very often where a note in Uncirculated
condition could be found. You are less likely to come across such a note
without pinholes, edge tears, or any other distractions. The lack of the
aforementioned are what make our offering of P-11b, a 100 Srang banknote from
the Government of Tibet so special. According to the Pop Report there is no
finer note graded than this PCGS 66 PPQ note.
This note is printed on
paper that is synonymous with Asian Banknotes. However, this paper is seldom
seen in such a pure condition. These notes are scarce in any grade, with every
Uncirculated version I’ve seen, containing pinholes. The fact that this note
has survived, and is without pinholes, makes it the ultimate collector’s item
for someone who wants the purest problem
free example.
The note itself has an
extremely intricate design with border designs within border designs. Black
seal and red seal both seen boldly printed. Lions in center on front, and
seated figure at center on back. This particular note fits the truest
definition of a Gem!
