Toned Gem 1951 Lincoln Cent Featured in our June 2021 Costa Mesa Auction

The 1951 Lincoln cent is an unassuming issue struck in the
final decade of the Wheat Reverse design type. Over 284 million examples were
struck in Philadelphia and at least 10% of those remain available to
collectors. While low-grade examples can still be found in circulation, this
issue is somewhat scarce in Gem grades and is a favorite among 20th
century type collectors.

We are excited to present a spectacular rainbow-toned 1951
cent in lot
3694
of our June 2021 Costa Mesa Auction. It ranks among the most desirable
survivors and is graded MS-66 RB (PCGS) and approved by CAC. This cent combines
exceptional preservation with stunning eye appeal. Rich shades of magenta, lime
green and tangerine-orange glow across both sides, with the most intense color
at the obverse borders. This color is complemented by satiny luster and nearly
pristine surfaces. It is also tied with the finest graded by PCGS in this color
designation, making it an ideal Registry Set candidate. (Image courtesy of

Gem
is featured in Internet Only Session
