The 1869 Proof Liberty Head Quarter Eagle is another rarity with just 25 pieces struck. Of those, we estimate that there are probably no more than 15 specimens that can be located today.

The example to the left was sold by Stack's Bowers Galleries in the Samuel Berngard and S.S. New York Collections, where it sold for $49,450.
