The second year 1917 Walking Liberty Half Dollar ranks as the most readily obtainable early date (pre-1934) Walking Liberty half dollar issue in Mint State. The issue is extraordinarily popular for better date type purposes, as such, although most collectors will have to accept a coin that grades no finer than MS-65. Scarce in upper end Gem MS-66 and rare in Superb Gem MS-67, no other example seen by PCGS or NGC rivals or surpasses MS-67+.
