The 1941-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar>/strong> was the first Denver Mint half dollar produced since 1939, and the first in the Walking Liberty series with a mintage greater than 10 million coins at 11,248,400 pieces. While plentiful in an absolute sense, the 1941-D is actually underrated among late date Walking Liberty half dollars, ranking fifth in Mint State rarity among the 20 "short set" issues. There are only 35 examples certified finer than MS-67 by PCGS, just one of which has been approved by CAC.
