Although plentiful in an absolute sense, this 1947-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar issue is rare in the finest Mint State grades. It is also the only mintmarked issue of this date, as the San Francisco Mint suspended half dollar production after 1946 and did not resume until 1949, the second year of the Franklin series.
