Tip-Top Mine Tip-Top Mine

Tip-Top Mine

There were several mines named Tip-Top in Arizona before statehood on February 14. 1912 and the one named on the bar from the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection cannot be identified. George E. Webber, whose name appears on said bar, remains unidentified, as well. The Tip-Top Mine bar in question was clearly a presentation bar and/or was made as a desk ornament. There are no marks of content, weight, fineness, or value. Unusually, its inscriptions have been made by reducing the surface of the bar around them.
