The E Pluribus Unum Collection Part 3 to Feature Impressive and Important Medals

Stack’s Bowers Galleries has become accustomed to selling impressive collections over their history. The E Pluribus Unum Collection is mentioned among the best of those collections due to its focus on quality and completion. Shown in this week’s blog is the 1631 Dutch Victories in the New World Medal. Our experts call this “one of the classic rarities among the early Betts series.” In the past 20 years, our cataloger has only seen four examples of the medal: two sold in the John W. Adams Collection in 2013 (both of which were originally from Europe), the LaRiviere specimen which we sold in 2001, and the offered example, which we previously featured in the John J. Ford, Jr. Collection, Part XIII. It is with great pleasure that we offer this specimen once again as lot 10001. It has been graded MS-61 by PCGS.

Coins in Motion seeks to enable collectors, bidders, and consignors to accurately appreciate how Stack’s Bowers Galleries coins look in hand. Ultra-high resolution animations depict how luster moves over the coin’s surfaces, while the rotating motion allows for any possible imperfections to be revealed. Stack’s Bowers Galleries is proud to have acquired Coins in Motion. To view our YouTube Playlist dedicated to Coins in Motion, click here. Videos are added weekly.
