Impressive Condition Rarity Gem Uncirculated 1925-S Peace Dollar

Peace dollars have long been at the top of the popularity list and remain so for today’s collectors. Contributing to their appeal is the ability to acquire specimens with relative ease. Unlike many issues in the series, however, the 1925-S is much more difficult to acquire in high grades. It is one of the two rarest Peace dollars at or above the Gem Mint State grade level, vying only with the 1928-S. Most Uncirculated survivors are limited in grade due to poor striking detail (especially on the top part of the eagle’s wing), inferior luster and/or excessive abrasions. While attainable in grades through MS-64, this changes significantly at MS-65.

Crossing the block in the Rarities Night session of our Spring 2025 Showcase Auction on April 1 is an exceptionally well produced and well preserved 1925-S Peace dollar (lot 3101). This example is certainly a welcome departure from the norm. Its above average strike, sharp overall detail and beautiful, lustrous surfaces have earned the MS-65 grade from PCGS as well as a CMQ sticker. This is a premium 1925-S silver dollar that would serve as a highlight in any advanced collection. We invite you to bid aggressively to acquire this gem.
