We Are Attending The Long Beach Coin Expo From June 4-6, 2015

The Stack’s Bowers Galleries team will be headed to the Long Beach Coin Expo June 4-6, 2015. Before the show begins, our team will be busy buying and selling coins and currency in our private trading suite, room 104-A of the convention center, Tuesday, June 2 from 10 AM to 5 PM, and Wednesday, June 3, from 9 AM to noon. The show opens for set-up Wednesday afternoon, and will be open to the public from 10 AM Thursday, June 4 through Saturday, June 5. For specific show details visit the official show website at LongBeachExpo.com.

Come by Table 502 where future highlights from the D. Brent Pogue Collection will be on display. The first sale realized over $25 million and set more than 18 new price records!  In addition we will have on display a special preview of The Twin Leaf Collection of United States Large Cents. The Twin Leaf Collection stands tall among the greatest cabinets of Middle and Late Date large cents ever formed, and is currently the finest collection of this specialty. It includes nearly every Newcomb number, many Condition Census pieces, and more than 50 Proofs from 1817 to 1857 – an unparalleled selection of these rarities that are seldom included in even the finest collections. It also includes the extremely rare patterns of 1868, in nickel and copper. The Twin Leaf Collection will be a highlight of our official auction of the Whitman Coin & Collectibles Summer Expo in Baltimore this July.

Another magnificent highlight of our July sale will be the Doug Kaselitz Collection. Sadly, Mr. Kaselitz passed away unexpectedly before completion of his beloved type sets, but what he accomplished in decades of searching is incredible. The collection includes a number of amazing coins. Highlights among these include the finest known 1806/5 half dollar, graded MS-66 by PCGS, an outstanding 1797 10×6 Star silver dollar graded MS-64 by PCGS, and a spectacular prooflike 1828 quarter graded MS-66+ by PCGS. Other fabulous coins from this collection include Gem Mint State examples of the 1805 dime, 1853 Arrows and Rays quarter and half dollar, and 1839-O half dollar. This is but a small sampling of the many great properties to be found in the Kaselitz Collection.

Meet with one of our industry leading experts to discuss consigning your collection. Brian Kendrella, Chris Napolitano, Rick Ponterio, Peter Treglia, Gene Nesheim, Dale Larsen, Richard Melamed, and Scott Reiter (to name just a few) will be on hand to help you with an appraisal or give you information on our competitive auction rates. If you are interested in immediate payment, inquire about our generous cash advance program or sell your collection outright. We will have our checkbooks on hand!
