Stack’s Bowers Galleries hosted a special lunch event for former Professional Numismatist Program (PNP) students and instructors on August 20 at the ANA World’s Fair of Money in Oklahoma City. The gathering provided an opportunity for students to reconnect with the mentors they met during previous PNP sessions in Costa Mesa and to network with fellow numismatists.
What is PNP? The Professional Numismatist Program is held annually in July at Stack’s Bowers Galleries’ Costa Mesa office. Selected from a competitive pool of applicants, students receive an all-expenses-paid week of intensive professional training. Experts from various numismatic fields lead courses and deliver lectures. Past instructors have included Peter Treglia, John Kraljevich, John M. Pack, and others. The insights and experience gained through the program are invaluable for aspiring professional numismatists.
Christine Karstedt hosted the lunch, bringing together students and employees to share a meal and stories. Former instructors Jason Carter and Vicken Yegparian offered their perspectives on the numismatic industry and answered students’ questions. Attendees were also encouraged to bring guests who had not participated in PNP, introducing them to Stack’s Bowers Galleries employees and potentially inspiring future applicants.
The gathering was a great success! Attendees built meaningful connections with employees and fellow young numismatists. Building community is important at Stack’s Bowers Galleries and we hope to host this event again.
