1929 Swatow 10 Dollar Note

In our
upcoming April Hong Kong 2018 Auction at the Mira Hotel, we are offering a
scarce Banque Industrielle de Chine 10 Dollar note from Swatow in a PMG Choice
Very Fine 35 Holder. This issued note shows with a diagonal red SWATOW MEXICAN
DOLLARS overprint over the design for China’s Pick S397. Red strike through at
Shanghai branch name with overprinted “SWATOW,” in black below. A
rare design and only the second we have handled for the catalog number, with
the last one in this grade fetching $11,400 in our January 2018 NYINC sale. This
note has sharp color and detail throughout. Facing Chinze at lower left and
right center.  Minor bits of handling are
mentioned for accuracy. PMG notes Pinholes in the comments section but they are
trivial in size, and noticed mostly only on the left side when held up against
light.
