Stacks Bowers Galleries was honored with numerous prestigious 2024 Numismatic Literary Guild Awards for its contributions across various types of media. Presented August 7 at the ANA Worlds Fair of Money in Rosemont, Illinois, these add to the firms long list of awards for superb catalogs, best website, diverse media presentations, and other numismatic literary offerings.

The 1652 New England threepence has been recognized as the single rarest colonial coin by American collectors since before the Civil War. With only one specimen known, locked away in the Massachusetts Historical Society since 1905, the unique NE threepence was utterly non-collectible. A second specimen, once in the Yale Cabinet, was stolen decades ago and never recovered. None have been in a private collection since the death of William Sumner Appleton in 1903, but collectors will have the opportunity to acquire a newly discovered specimen in the November 2024 Stacks Bowers Galleries auction.

Kraljevich, proprietor of John Kraljevich Americana since 2007, has been recognized as one of the most influential figures in numismatics. Coin World honored him in their inaugural list of Most Influential People in Numismatics, and he was distinguished as one of the Top 14 Numismatists of the Century by CoinAge magazine. In his new role, Kraljevich will devote his numismatic talents to cataloging noteworthy consignments across a wide range of specialties for Stacks Bowers Galleries auctions. In addition, he will maintain an inventory of historical American numismatic items for retail sale and work with the firms collector and dealer clients.

Stacks Bowers Galleries June 2024 Showcase Auction, held in conjunction with the Whitman Coin & Collectibles Summer Expo, presents eight sessions of American numismatic items from tokens and medals to early American coppers to rare date gold, as well as a wide array of physical cryptocurrency. Session will run from June 17 through June 21, with the highly anticipated Rarities Night session on Tuesday, June 18 and the Albertine Set of Fairmont Collection Gold Coins on Wednesday, June 19.
